Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT layoffs for 5 straight long years

Every since Elliot Management, an inefficient shark, took over ATT the company has been in a rabbit ho-e. ATT CEOs and all their higher executives should take a pay cut or no pay for however long it takes for the company to recover. Laying off all the 1st and 2nd tiers have never helped the company especially when the higher executives keep their regular salaries and bonuses. Stephenson sent ATT to he-l, Elliot Management is keeping keeping ATT there 4 good.

5 years?

More like 25 years. In fact, between 2015 and 2019 there were over a dozen layoffs, because during this period there would be one layoff event per quarter!

That bears repeating. From 2015 until at least 2019 there were multiple regular layoffs each year - often one per quarter. In fact it got to where my team and I would always be cringing when it came to the second month of each quarter (think Feb, May, etc) because that was when the emails warning us about them would come. Oh, the emails never mentioned surpluses or layoffs, of course. They were about reorgs, new responsibilities, or other innocent sounding things. But it didn't take long to figure out the code.

Layoffs really are the only thing T can do better than anyone else.

Elliott management never took over AT&T and they've been gone for a while from being a shareholder that matters.

As a decent-sized stockholder they made some suggestions but that was it.

5 years ? I’ve been here for 22 years and except for my first 18 months (I was surplused on the nineteenth) I’ve been under constant threat of surplus (Surplused 6 times) Now that I welcome termination pay with paid medical It’ll never happen.

You do know that Elliott divested themselves of AT&T a couple years ago right? Don’t you? Ah, nevermind.
