Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Fear of bankruptcy

It is true that Ford is very poorly managed, but I still think that it will not go bankrupt. But since some of you here mentioned such a dark scenario, I am interested in why you think it is inevitable that it will happen?

Design studio is the biggest joke, All about nepotism. Well until all the incompetent directors got royally screwed when an outside, from a freaking french company got brought in. lolololol. get them all out and start with the id--ts with british accents. none of them are capable of making decisions or producing a well designed vehicle. who cares about ev dev when the same old group of id--ts cant even produce a decent ice vehicle. the entire lincoln team must be eliminated, they've been given plenty of time and chances to produce a luxury vehicle and are clearly incapable, how the he-l do you sc--w up a nameplate like continental. don't use the bs sedan arent selling, genesis is making a mint with theirs! when will id--ts be held accountable???

@2ptt+1k6PRRBK clearly, you have no clue that if we don’t sell vehicles, we don’t have data to sell or customers to whom we sell subscriptions. Ford is a vehicle manufacturer, not a digital and services business. If we had to pay your salary with our digital and services business revenue, your paycheck would bounce!

It is rather disingenuous to attempt to predict Ford's future on just styling studies that may or may not see the light of day. And I would say that styling and esthetics will not carry much weight with our customers going forward in the digital and services business model that we as a company are now transforming towards. Our leadership knows what they are undertaking and what will be successful.

I was a clay modeler at Ford for a couple years and a few months ago, I went to a competitor as a clay modeler. Just from what I saw from leadership, the design dept, and the way the vehicles looked in the clay studios, I can honestly say it's only going to be a matter of time before ford goes bankrupt. I pray that the good people there realize what's going on and prepare to leave or move forward accordingly.

Jim F is a joke, and i saw it as soon as I joined ford awhile back. I'm wishing you all the best of luck. Such good and hard working people deserve so much better from the people at the top. Sigh

What surprises me the most is the stock price…how does it manage to stay so high? With all the bad news of the industry and ford specific what makes the investor think that ford is a growth story in the next 10 years? Jim Cramer can’t have that much effect touting the stock on cnbc. Electric vehicles will only replace volume lost from gas engines not add to it.

I retired after 35 years in June and took the lump sum payment.

I no longer have faith in Ford products or Ford leadership.

The clown Jim Farley and the Ford family says we are all family. This is all talk. Unfortunately your only family if you are an LL3 or higher.

Family wouldn’t threaten your job and force you to get a vaccination jab to stay employed.

Family wouldn’t terminate your employment in a cold callous manner and escort you out of the building in humiliation.

I wish nothing but future failure to Ford Motor Company.

They can blow the cash on hand sooner than they think

I think the next two years will be telling. Let see who can afford a 40-60K vehicle, and how many EV's sit in dealer lots because of lack of interest.

...... Ford family won't let Ford go bankrupt ..... Ford family will lose their preferred stock status, and their cash cow.....
totally agree, a repeat of 2008 will happen, doesn't take much to see what programs are being cancelled, headcount is directly related to programs, so plenty of cuts right there. also, waaaaaaaay to many redundancies, especially in the design and so-called customer experience groups ... just like 2008, plenty will be cut, except this time PEPs will be used - NA GSR, LL6 ranks will be cut IMO by 30%, the real news will be who gets cuts at the LL2/3/4/5 level.......waaaaaaaay top heavy of under performing ' leaders ' they can't hide or say they're iterating forever LOL. pretty easy to find org charts and see which empires are bing decimated FINALLLLLYYYY!!!!!!!

$139 billion in debt vs. less than $30 billion in cash.

EVs are sold at a loss.

Truck and SUV sales are drying up.

Bankruptcy or selling the company is inevitable. I don't see the Ford family ever selling, which means they'll drive the company right off of a cliff.

Anoyone remember 2008 when car sales essentially stopped? They aren’t going to stop raising interest rates anytime soon and when’s the last time you heard of someone paying cash for a car? I honestly don’t think it will be bankruptcy but I’ll betcha a lot of those valuable brand names won’t be registered in Dearborn anymore. After whoever is running the country is done f’n us over in the next two years I’m guessing Dearborn’s going to be a ghost town.
If you voted for ‘‘em you’re gonna get it good and hard!

i think they will dump everything except f150 gas/diesel if that's what it takes for the ford family to maintain control. and rebuild from there.

Cash flow tells everything. If cash is at 10 billion … bankruptcy is enviable. Right now cash flow is fine and no threat of an imminent bankruptcy.
