Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Volunteer during involuntary layoffs, after CPM?

Missed volunteering for CPM, is there still a chance to let boss know I’m ok with a layoff during the time they decide on the involuntary layoffs - or would that backfire?

If you have a good or reasonable relationship with your boss, I would have the conversation. I asked mine about voluntary and the risk of our broader and immediate orgs.

Why do people continually ask if they can leave on this site? How do you miss something like like volunteering for a separation package if you really want to leave?

If you are d-mb enough to ask this question and also miss your opportunity you should stay. You are destine for executive management.

They will likely not get you package benefits, claiming accurately that the window is closed. They won’t fire you either, but instead will give you cr---y near-0% raises until you exit on your own (without any exit benefits).

As admiral Ackbar said: “It’s a Trap!”

Stay or go, but resist this urge to bloviate your feelings to your manager. Recognize this nonproductive behavior is born of you being raised in a dis-functional Intel culture (or 'family' as ELT refers to it...) where there is lots of talk and little to no results.

if you want to leave, how would this backfired? agreed with previous comments. Talk to your boss.

I would have that 1:1 if I were you and if you want really to leave.

Maybe your manager can work something out with HR and make it happen and if not, is not like you will be fired on focal and if you do, then you will get a severance package anyway, so it is a win win for you in my opinion.

Put yourself in your bosses shoes and think about it for a minute... If you want to get out of Intel make the plan and go on your own timing. Telling your boss you would like to be fired/laid off, I am sure that is going to be a great conversation...
