Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Who is getting hit in Canada?

900 at Imperial Oil, but someone here mentioned a 20% headcount reduction at Exxon Canada besides IO. Does anyone know if a particular area is being targeted, or will the cuts be across the board?

What is the split between MPT and field and admin of the 2000 cuts? and do the 2000 cuts include the 2024 sales of french assets which closed late in 2024? Does it include the transfer of Aus Bass strait personnel to Woodside?
More reductions are needed as XOM sells of Mal, Aus, East Can. offshore and Germany (upstream and downstream).
Then we should buy COP or EOG or Diamondback or Suncor or Woodside or BP upstream, plus buy a couple gulf coast LNG plants

50% reduction of all imperial roles that are MPT. Basically if you are not boots on the ground or managing boots on the ground - you're toast. Only exception are government mandated roles that will be for a very small, select few.

If you’re an XOM employee you can check if yo have access to all the details on the “Canada Transformation” share point.
50% of above field positions incl:
40% of product solutions
60% of corporate
60% of upstream

I heard (offshore on Hibernia) that the XOM office in St John's is losing anywhere from 50-80 people.
One of the supervisors was given a package last week too, so expecte more of the same of getting rid of senior people nearing retirement in addition to the actual layoffs.
