Thread regarding Gartner Inc. layoffs

Kick a ss in Your Role and Opportunities Will Come

How many of us believe this? Let me know your thoughts. I think the pie is shrinking and we are going through a structural change. Since the pie is shrinking, there will be many people who will not get a slice of the pie by the sheer fact that there is not enough slices. Once can 'kick a ss' all day, if there is nothing to be given you'll get nother (or it'll be taken away from you as we are witnessing right now. Just my two very modest cents.

Robin is tone deaf and cringe. She is too far removed from the operational side and the strategic side is lacking what’s really needed: people who know the job and are given the chance to do the job.

The only thing that truly matters to them and most publicly traded companies is stock price.
For those of you still in TA, do not expect there to be very many promotions for the rest of 2025 and 2026… Maybe even longer. Midyear promotions were already eliminated for 2025 (this is becoming common scenario for last two years which is extremely frustrating for those who are kicking a-s in their role and doing everything right) and I wouldn’t be surprised if end of year raises and bonus pools are not fully funded as they are based on Company performance.

Let's not start with AI exaggerations (AI will ki-l all jobs, tech companies are using AI as an excuse to layoff people too), let's focus on what Layoffs.com is about, which is layoffs

Sounds good? I don't mean to cut anyone's inspiration, just saying to keep ourselves focused - please don't be mad :-)

all of this is bs, we all know the stock is down 50% since january.

this is not about tarrifs. if you are unsure about what's going on, just do a deep research job (any IT topic) in any AI tool it'll quickly become apparent where the field of research is going. it'll not impact all of things we are doing but a good chunk will be affected.

there is nothing you can do performance wise to compensate for this. to stay afloat, they have to cut headcount as i am fairly sure they aint going to be cutting exec pay and positions.
