Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Safe tech companies

Are there any tech companies that can be considered safe currently? Companies that have not had any layoffs and will most likely not have any in near future? The way things seem now, no matter where we apply, we're in danger of being cut within months of being hired. That adds another layer of awful to layoffs.

Surely Brandon is here to save us. Just watch him roll, in amazement.

Anybody intimately convinced has anything to do with layoffs actually ought to get laid off. Such a blatant lack of critical thinking really should be dealt with.

Genuinely curious what sort of permanent damage you think DJT has caused. Would love to see specifics.

I wouldn't say "permanent", but here's a pretty decent list.

  • Told the most lies to the American people
  • Damaged democracy w/ his unfounded claims of election fraud
  • Permanent tax breaks for the wealth and corporations while the middle-class tax breaks expired after his term. "Trickle-down economics" did not work for Regan, Bush Sr or GW Bush, and it certainly didn't work for DJT.
  • Divided the country over Pandemic handling and completely discarded the playbook left by Obama.
  • Wall boondoggle; yes, we need a more secure border, but the "powerful wall" he built was so weak winds blew it over and DIY-quality sawzalls could cut through it. What a joke.
  • First President to keep his businesses and drive business to them to make money. Who cares if his kids ran them, it's still money in his pockets.
  • Tried to use his power as President to pressure people to do unethical things. Remember those "perfect" phone calls?

Do I need to continue? He turned the office of the President into a shitshow.

His pandemic handling in the beginning is what caused this economic mess we're still in. I don't know how bad it would have been under Obama if he'd still been in office, or under Hilary if she'd won instead, but I know it would have been better than it is. He-l, any of the GOP candidates that had tried to beat out DJT in the primaries would have been better than him.

And don't try to call me some woke liberal. There's a lot I didn't like about Clinton, some I didn't like about the Bush's, and I wasn't a fan of Hilary either. About the only President I didn't have any problems with was Obama. I may not have agreed w/ all of his policies, but I agreed w/ more of his than any other President's. He brought class and honor to the office. DJT just sh-t all over everything. Clinton, had good Democratic policies if you were a Democrat, but his personal ethics hurt his legacy and his wife was just as bad w/ her "the rules don't apply to me" mentality. I thought she was bad until I witnessed what DJT did.

Ok, I hope you see my reply before the mods take it down now that you've turned this into politics.

Weak brains aren’t capable of critical thought. If a weak brain is told that the X is responsible for all things bad, then all roads lead to X.

This is why weak brained liberal believe that DJT is responsible for their layoff.

This is also why weak brained conservatives believe that Biden is responsible.

Solution, discard the opinions of weak brains, their opinions aren’t original anyway.

AWS is safe if you are "ready to work". Most Cisco emps would not be able to survive at AWS unless they have been "really working" while at Cisco.
Cisco is place to collect a paycheck, watch netflix, take a day nap, day trade, take a long lunch break (3hrs), etc.

This whole thing, in my opinion, is coordinated between tech companies to suppress wages. To punish people for desiring better working conditions and livable wages. As such, I don’t personally believe, nor see, any safe tech companies at the moment, unless you’re in a country with firm workers rights laws.
