Uh, like is this going to change anything?

Depending on how you define 'medical leave', if you're on STD it's my understanding you have 'job protection' during that time (per the documents received from Cisco's disability administrator Sedgwick) but what happens when you RTW may be a different story.

Are they doing that weird 5-minute offset on the meetings? I'm seeing a few meetings like 1:05 to 1:20, etc.

Of course it doesn't save anyone. The question was how they would handle it if someone was completely inaccessible due to a serious medical issue (in ICU for example) or on a remote island with no connection to the outside world.

I do know someone who is in a serious medical situation that has no ability to be "reached".

If you're on pto or medical leave it's not going to save you. Depending how long you're out management will either wait for you to return or reach out to you directly with the news anyway

Any idea how this will be handled for those on vacation or a medical leave?

The invites haven’t gone out yet. You should be able to see a basic view of your manager’s calendar (and their manager too). Take a screenshot today and compare it to the view Sunday night. If you see a bunch of 15/30 minute meetings appearing then you should be able to infer that they’re LR invites. This isn’t rocket science. Some people have already been informed and Monday is a formality but most haven’t. My manager canceled or rescheduled every 1;1 for this week so people wouldn’t get the wrong idea.

@1qyv+1k7JcaiY, don't be childish. Declining the 1:1 invite isn't going to change anything. It just means that your manager will reach out to you via Webex and ask you to join the meeting, then possibly an ad-hoc meeting if you refuse. Then your manager will reach out to HR saying you're refusing to attend a meeting.

HR will probably notify you that you need to attend the meeting or face disciplinary actions, up to and including termination. You can laugh it off and say "What, are you firing me?" and they can terminate you immediately w/ no severance. You do realize that Cisco is an "at-will" employer and both NC and CA are "at-will" states, so they can give you the finger and just let you go now. Once they document that you refused to attend the meeting to notify you of your impending LR, then they have all they need to defend themselves against a suit by you against them for retaliation.

It all depends on your boss. If he is sincere and would like you to have a good weekend, then he would send the email invite out on Sunday.

@yff+1k7JcaiY, you and I disagree on that issue. If I thought my BU, department or team were at risk, I would want the 1:1 invite as soon as possible so I'd know and not have to think about it any longer.

I'm not worried about what I'll do if I'm LR'd because between Mon and mid-Mar is 90-days to look for a job plus whatever severance they give out. While 2 days doesn't make much difference on how much holiday spending I'll do if I'm not LR'd, I'd rather get on w/ my weekend and not wonder any longer.

It could be a meeting that is already scheduled. It could be a team meeting or any other meeting. Some people go to one meeting, while others go to a different meeting.

I had a 1:1 scheduled at a regular interval that happens to be on the middle of this week. No idea if they can wait until the middle of the week to give notice.

Cisco will be buried in law suits. Hope the id--ts set high enough reserves.

Got 1:1 email on Tuesday. Will see what will happen at that 1:1.
Overwhelming workload for few months, toxic new leader, a LR with package is actually quite welcome.

Layoff emails were sent out last night, Friday around 7 PM. Many in collaboration group received 1:1 emails. If you don't get 1:1 email, most likely you are safe.

Don't sign or agree to anything until you've had time to do research.
