Remember when ATT rebadged employees to a Vendor late in the year and made acceptance a requirement to receive their bonus? Vendor then required them to train overseas employees.
Management likes to push the line of whats legal to stress and frustrate employees.

Same scenario with Tech Dev and IBM...They are all gone and so is the knowledge as IBM off-shored and laid off and no one knows how anything works. Need I say more.
Pepperidge Farm Remembers
I knew a guy thay stayed long enough to get his bonus then quiet quit and did nothing until they laid him off.
Makes sense as he was quiet fired.
Is there a reason we can't do this for departments like marketing, retail stores, and billing? Good way to flush out the old Bellheads.
Remember the days of the switchboard operators. Now that was a great career.
Yay! Make AT&T great again.
I would not have those employees train anyone. Unless they looking for bad training.
Yes I am one of those loyal pension having employees that got rebadged and no, I no longer work for the vendor. Took my money and skills elsewhere as did many of my peers
I remember this with the whole IBM deal. They re-badged AT&T GOSS employees as IBM. The condition was that they worked for a year as IBM. IBM agreed. Kept them on for 1 year to the day, and then let them all go. They trained their Philippine replacements. Fast forward two years, IBM was replaced by Tech Mahindra. Whoever "trained" those people are now probably long gone from the company. My goodness they are horrible to work with. Total garbage in/ garbage out people. They refuse to pick up a phone or talk to a customer. They only communicate with form e-mails. You probably couldn't understand a word they say any way.
I remember. Classic T, getting those pensioners out from under its wing. They should do this segment by segment until the Bellhead pensioners are gone. No package, no contract negotiation. Just clean transfer to new employer as a rebadge
I do remember this and none of those people work at T any longer or with the rebadged company. So those that don’t know, this happened in digital a couple years back, they took badged FTEs and told them, you don’t work for T anymore, you now work for Tech Mahindra or some other company. Accept it or there’s the door and no bonus or severance. All the while they still worked for T, but as contractors now. All of those people then had to train offshore or H1B people and were eventually cut with nothing. I don’t think any are left here or there.
Nothing illegal, just business as usual.
No, I don’t. Why should we care what was done in the past? What is border line illegal about it?
