Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Strategies to get laid off?

Never before have I heard people considering different strategies in order to get laid off and leave with severance. Honestly, I'm one of them too... Literally, there are many who would love to be laid off.

Update your workday info to say that you're white, male, straight, and cisgender. This will guaranteed you're moved to the top of the layoff list.

I'm kidding because Intel isn't taking any of that into consideration for the layoffs.

However, they _are_ taking it into consideration for those that apply to other positions in the company, so update your info in Workday appropriately.

It's a losing strategy, You neglect to put forth your best effort stagnating your own talent. As layoffs are very much organization dependent you could have 0 chance of getting what you want here. Like manufacturing orgs or design, not going to happen anytime soon with all the expansion and talent leaving for competitors.

I am going to continue doing my best until I find a new job or get laid off. I am still being paid to do a job...

I had to work pretty hard at it, but eventually got exactly what I wanted and left the company with no regrets.
