Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

So much hate, so little leaving

If you truly hated Intel that much you'd be long gone by now. The fact that you're here on a page about layoffs means that you still care and that you are worried if you're going to be let go or not. Which is why I think all the posturing is unnecessary. Everybody can see it right through it.

Intel has great pay and benefits, and it constantly encourages employees to expand their skill sets. The jobs can also be very challenging and satisfying.

It is the people and culture that makes Intel miserable.

Pointy-Haired managers giving credit to the wrong people because HR compels them to give more recognition. There's an army of Project Managers (ex-engineers) who team with management to manage deadlines versus managing the business obstacles. In turn, management listens to the engineers that use a lot of words and spend the majority of time building well-formed slides.

The divisive political atmosphere coupled with the energy spent trying to expand on immigration, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, disaster relief, volunteering, etc. has taken the focus off of building a world-class product. And there are a lot of unhealthy behaviors from people at Intel who are motivated to take advantage of others which led to this negative culture.

@Op how simple minded you are. You stated, 'The fact that you're here on a page about layoffs means X'.

So, somehow you concluded X, when there are many motivations and reasons for people posting here, but all you could come up with was one reason.... X.

I hope you don't work at Intel because you clearly don't understand the scientific method.

This also reflects on poor management and leadership. With true leadership employees should be cheering on for the best. The fact that many employees are complaining reflects on how bad the management is

Nah, I already applied for and got accepted for CPM. I'm retirement age, so it amounts to a golden handshake. I'm just worried for my friends that I left behind. The way this is dragging out, it reminds me of the Poe story, "The Pit and the Pendulum."

I dont hate Intel, quite enjoy my work.
That said, if a layoff package comes for the manufacturing staff I'll gladly put my name forward. The cheque would be just as appreciated.
