Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

In talking to colleagues regarding layoffs, some of them still think that good employees can feel safe. Yes, that's how it should be.
However, I am almost certain that among those who get laid off, unfortunately, there will be a huge percentage of excellent employees, and that some who only partially met or are below expectations will survive.
We'll see, but I wouldn't pin my hopes up on a good performance, because it's always better to start looking before they decide you are not needed anymore.
