Another round hit August 14th. Not sure how many were affected. Word to the wise, get all promises in writing when you onboard with Optum/UHC/UHG to be sure you are covered when they let you go.... I thought I had, but Optum sees those agreements differently...

More than this, what I am hearing, unofficially of course, is that "we don't talk about it", like - at all. I'm a contractor just trying to do my job... people vanish and no one will say anything about it.
It's bizarre and highly dysfunctional. But all you hear back when you bring this up is "this is just how we do it here".

Why isn't anyone talking about the 1400+ people who were let go from UHC/Optum last week??? Could it be due to the laid off employees being told they are forbidden from discussing it with anyone? Could it be the threat of not getting your severance package if they found out you went public? Maybe it's because those team members who weren't dismissed being told they are not allowed to speak to those who were laid off. Something shady is going on apparently more cuts are coming this month and possibly in the fall as well. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, and not insider trading, CEO witty sold a bunch of stock earlier this year.

Whatever is going on in ECS has been for a few months. If you weren't already looking you should now. No real excuse not to.
Major realignment at Optum, specifically Enterprise Clinical Services on Thursday. Managers and Sr Inpatient Care Managers were told they’re losing their jobs. Will be working with a team to find different positions within the company. Employees that had recently accepted promotions were let go.
