Most ISV’s have moved away from UNIX and embraced LINUX. This isn’t an AIX statement, but rather a UNIX statement. Oracle and HPE have seen the same thing, BUT they have encouraged their legacy ISV UNIX solutions to move to Intel LINUX hw offerings. Since IBM exited the Intel marketplace, they only have LINUX on Power HW solutions. Most ISV’s don’t want to keep two code stacks even if they are quite similar, and as such Intel HW wins. The only exception to this is very very large ISV’s that need Powers unique offerings (SAP and Oracle come to mind due to Powers very large memory capabilities and superior performance)

AIX has been dead for years. However, it doesn’t hide the fact IBM is a dinosaur in the IT marketplace.

Ah yes.. India IT - There's a hint online that the airline outage we just experienced might have been from a contractor who did not follow procedures. Today - that means there's a good chance that was a contractor working under an India outfit contracted by the FAA.
But - it's cheaper. So was the Yugo automobile - if you didn't mind it falling apart as you drove it.

Most of everything is going to move to India or other LCCs. It has been clearly announced. The plan is in full motion. There is NO growth/innovation at IBM, the only option is to cut costs.

IBM is a cautionary tale on what happens when C suite decides to move tech jobs to India. They are no longer the powerhouse of the 80s and 90s. Their footprint will continue dwindle until only the old timers will remember who they were.

Welcome to sustain mode IBM will ride OS/400 and AIX into the sunset. Linux on power is stillborn vs other HW products as the ISV’s don’t care for it
