Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Do you qualify for annual raise if you joined department in February/March?

Being told that since I started in February/March in my department I don’t qualify for an annual merit raise. Seems far fetched to me, any truth to this?

You can absolutely still qualify for an annual merit increase. I started in Q1 2021 and received an annual increase the same year, followed by an off-cycle merit increase during my mid-year performance review in 2022. Nothing is off the table!

it’s up to the head of the dept; I started in 2nd Q and didn’t get one. we were told only those who started in Q1 got a raise. spouse started 2nd quarter on a different team they got a full bonus and a raise. same company different standard

Yes, you're eligible for a raise. Only people given an off cycle raise after October of this year are not eligible for a raise.

Technically everyone qualifies for a merit increase, well I lees you get the worst performance rating. However, it's up to the team or department how to distribute those funds.

When I've been promoted it was common that I wouldn't get much the following year due to the comp change the year prior. It allows them to spread the wealth.

It would depend on if you got an increase in pay to move over - they may call that your raise.
