Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Are you polishing your resume?

I always take rumors with a grain of salt but they should not be ignored. Recently, there have been many rumors floating around that major layoffs are imminent. Perhaps it's best to polish your resume and start applying elsewhere, just in case.

Some stupid comments here which can only be by senior managemwnt or HR.Systems are cr-p,service is cr-p and targets are pulled out of thin air.Add that to the fact that management have no clue how unhappy staff are it would make you wonder how long Dell has left.Staff are unhappy.Maybe instead of taliking crqp about employees that have left they should fix the issues. They will either layoff staff or raise targets so we leave but same many staff are needed.Think about how many people have to be paid on the one deal and it makes sense that it is the only option. They need to reduce the cost and payroll is the easy option.

Resume Polishing to nowhere.

End of Cheap Money will mean great reduction in workforce. Learn to farm and learn a skill beyond pushing ones and zeros.

Dell is not a great employer. It is 3rd to 4th tier in the grand scheme of employers.

But most of the hate is probably from the laid off who still haunts these hallways

I feel a lot of the vitriol here is generated by laid of folks who haven't moved on.

what they dont realize is this resentment will not win them their job back

@1ije+1kFUkYmG ISG’s ideas of the cloud are rudimentary, at best, and 10 years too late. JC et al will never let Dell be anything more than a hardware box shipper.

Wrong CSG is who is in the tank selling Stone Age Windows PC hardware!

“Working in ISG is like working in the Stone Age”

I always keep it updated and apply regularly to positions and companies I’m interested in. And any interviews that come from it are just good practice.

Hmm. So the cloud is stone age. I'll have pass that nugget of information on to others, they're probably not aware of that.

Working in ISG is like working in the Stone Age. The world has moved on. The only people still here should be people who have been working there for years and near retirement. Anyone under 35 years of age should be elsewhere. Have a long term goal.

same here, in ISG. This is the only place it's being mentioned. Even managers do not know anything. How are you privy to the information or are you just surmising. From all indications, we're plowing ahead with projects that are already short handed.
