Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Layoffs elicit less and less reaction from people

I remember a time when me and my colleagues were much more worried at the first sign that there might be layoffs, even when the job market was much better. Have you noticed that people here have become more and more indifferent to cuts? This speaks best of the culture at Intel today and how no one has much hope that things will get better in the future.

Earnings reports this year are going to be bitter and painful... Investor relations team will be a tough place for a while...

In fact, until the spacecraft gets closer to the moon, it will be a very glum place to work for everyone. Reason being is that the company has bet the farm... and I mean the ENTIRE farm, not just Jones Farm on the 'moonshot' foundry business. No diversification anymore... all or nothing. live or die. Too bad it came down to this, all the wasted projects and failed acquisitions sure didn't help the situation on top of the horrible execution performance.

Compared to previous ones, this doesn’t seem drawn out. If it were quicker there would maybe be more people talking about how more notice would be good. I agree with those that posted anticipate more throughout the year.

This is not true. They have just drawn them out so people get too tired to talk about them.
