Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

When will the company rip the bandaid off?

Cutting a few heads here or there is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic... When is the company going to take actions that match the magnitude of the problem?

ki-l IFS 3.0?
ki-l discrete graphics?
cut 30,000 heads?
deliver on the promise to cut spending $3B this year, $10B next year?

Shareholders want their money back and they want to see some real ROIC... no more bloviating.

The roots of Intel's problems lay in it's FOCAL, forced distribution 'performance' rating system. Many really good people were ground up in a system that forces people into categories where they are marked for layoff... about 15% as I recall. It's all political. It's also a chicken sh-t method to rationalize a reduced payroll budget. Intel get's discounted labor, and disposes of them when needed. What's not to dis-like?

Intel is the laughing stock, sad there is a recession and everyone is layoff, once you can get the puck out of this ship! Pat’s strategy is a guarantee to ruin what is left or the company.

OP must be new to Intel. Rearranging deck chairs is what this company does and has been doing for years. Internally it’s sometimes referred to as a reorg which may or may not include layoffs. I am a shareholder too and want my damn money back, but I am not holding my breath.
