I was with the bank for 25 years, and left in 2018 for a better job. the manger that I reported to for 15+ years retired in 2016, so I had a new manager for the last two.
I turned in my two weeks notice, and after the song and dance of trying to get me to stay with everything but more money, my new manger turned her attention to getting me to turn in all the bank issue equipment that I had accumulated over the years.
Problem: I had never been issued any equipment from the bank. Did I mention that I performed unpaid, 24/7 support for one of our critical systems?
Here is my best recollection of how the conversation went:
New Manger: Lastly, you are going to have to turn in all your bank issued equipment.
Me: New Manger, I have never been issued any equipment by the bank.
New Manager: That's impossible. You have to return the equipment.
Me: I have never received any equipment from this company. If you have documentation that states otherwise, I would be very surprised to see it.
New Manger: I"m going to look into this.
I never heard from new manager again.
