those other companies are fat and bloated so they have more room for massive layoffs.
If more profitable companies are laying off a large number of workers I see no way to avoid it. Hopefully, everyone that's impacted lands on their feet.

they layoff people all the time, so yes, you're right. Are we talking mass layoffs or just one offs and nickel and dime stuff.
There is zero chance , I repeat zero chance that dell won't do layoffs. It's only a matter of time
