Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Agile Layoffs?

Capital One laid off its entire Agile team (1200+ positions). I wonder if we are next? Of course, Capital One is not Chase so I suppose we are safe until Chase does something like that.

All that Agile has brought us is another layer of management, more red-tape, and more (many more!) meetings. Agile has slowed progress down to a crawl.

"[The Paleo Diet] is a scam anyway"

... unless you actually follow it as intended with the necessary rigor and discipline.

The reason orgs aren't successful with Agile adoption has nothing to do with Agile adoption. It has to do with mis-aligned, unrealistic expectations of what Agile is all about.

If you really take a close look, Agile is essentially the application of science to product delivery: raise transparency, inspect and adapt. How is THAT a scam? A: it isn't

i have to agree with everyone. I feel like we have more tracking tasks than working. Confluence boards, teams file updates and Kanban and jira tracking. I have to put a task on each board to call out all the tracking updates. I call them tracking and although they don’t think it is micromanaging to the extreme. Managers should be more engaged and not need 3 or 4 boards to track their teams.

Kanban is latest grift replacing Agile. Get rid of this cr@p. It's the most unproductive deck chair shuffling. Why is leadership falling for this repackaged nonsense?

A bunch of people who are justifying their jobs through pithy phrases (e.g., walking the board) to try and act like they hold the key to some esoteric golden efficiency ticket. When in fact, it's the total opposite.

Lay off THESE people and save those who actually add value.

Agile teams at capital one are project and program managers at Wells Fargo. Its not the best idea to have engineers and product owners run everything because the person doing the work can't be the same ones who track and prioritize the work.

Since we're probably 10years behind everyone else, expect layoffs 10 years from now
