I truly believe in performance excellence. However, most do not. Most say 'we crossed the finish line', but they won't look around to notice they're in last place. Most would even be too full of themselves to take advice from Usain Bolt.

I accept that I don't know everything (or even most things) and nobody's perfect, but when I give a colleague the answer, just use it. You don't need to say thank you. You don't need to give me credit. You can even say it was all your idea.

So, if I tell you the answer, don't question me because if I'm giving you the answer, I'm almost always annoyingly right.

Verizon has a lot of performance failure in individuals sticking their heads in the sand instead of listening or learning. And execs, if you have someone going out of their way to help, invite them to join your team. You could save a lot of time getting to the real solutions that way. Why did they post helpcraig if they had no intention of reaching out to the people that submitted ideas.
