Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What are the usual entry level engineer salary ranges for super majors?

I'm curious how much of a difference there is between the super majors like exxon, shell, bp, chevron, etc

One-fitty start at BP nowadays.
As rupees go, it's a living wage.

Petroleum engineering? They still have schools doing that?

@1fwh+1kOBYjd0 With the exception of job protections, all other points you highlight are incorrect. Healthcare costs are recovered by taxes on earnings, but many still pay privately in addition.

Unfortunately, US salaries are much higher than ROW, which is why EM continues to move your work East. Unfortunately, HC10 lumps Europe with US salary family, so we're not immune to the company behaviour also.

Europeans here crying about getting paid less when they have concrete work schedules, Healthcare, free education, job protections, and 96 days of vacation a year.

I still prefer to get paid more but don't act like it's an apples to apples comparison.

You're only talking about America guys, those of us in Europe are on less than starting US salaries when we have 25 years experience. And that's before you even begin thinking about India salaries.

It’s call a bait and switch. Starting salaries are intentionally set high.

Many of the new hires who came on board over the last 10 years have since left or were PIP’d.
