Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

We had better prepare for continuous reductions in the coming years

I'm safe for now, but I'm aware that we won't be able to breathe easily here for a long time to come because continuous reductions will follow. However, how often these days are employees in the industry offered a better option than to wait for severance pay or hope that they will not be impacted? In terms of stability, there are not that many people who have been able to find a better opportunity in this industry recently, and if they did, they had to agree to many compromises in the form of lower pay or benefits.

What ARM processor is faster than a 13900k? That's right. None. Please tell me about power consumption. If I am buying a 13900k, or a 4080ti ... I really don't care about power do I?

“ many compromises in the form of lower pay or benefits”

Worse yet, a new company might actually expect you to work and accomplish something!

x86 under as----t from AMD with superior leader, execution, and better technology and scale.

ARM with Apple, Qualcomm, Ampere, Microsoft, Google and everyone else using it has already won the war. Sadly blind and fanatical leaders can’t see it.

Foundry and IDM can’t compete with Samsung nor TSMC scale and efficiencies not ecosystem.

Sadly this looks more and more Nokia like than IBM like ending

Yeah over the next few years no area of the company is immune and whole projects are liable to be cancelled outright without a ton of warning. Think someone is safe if they are an industry superstar or a brownnoser supreme, but otherwise there are no guarantees at Intel, at least on the engineering side. If staying longterm is important to you, seek friends in high places. It’s not enough for your immediate boss to like you.
