@2aor+1kPZ7PXg- You indeed have to ask yourself why you would need staff at your arms-length? Is it because you have trust issue or inablity to manage to know the difference of good/bad/ugly on results?
In my prior life working in a global org. 24/7, I do not expect to have staffs within my arms-length as long as they delivered!

I'm in management, and I can tell you that remote workers are generally higher on the list of employees to let go.

At the end of the day as a manager you need to ask yourself, "do you really need these people?" More often than not the answer is no. People who come into the office and interact with the team face to face simply bring more value than those who are just voices on the phone.

So yes, if you're remote and layoffs are happening (like right now), brush up your resume.

Usually when there are layoffs it can be remote, those that work in the office or a mix of both. They don't discriminate when they need to cut human capital.

Had a friend laid off from the QDM remote team. They’re just leaving managers, no workers.
