Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Town halls are a waste of time

I don't even remember when the town halls here were more meaningful, more inspiring than they are now. Instead of a valuable internal communication channel, they turned into a waste of time. Honestly, does anyone here actually get the desired information on topics of interest which are important to them?

In 25 years, I rarely went to one. I'd say to my boss "tell me if you hear anything useful at the dog and pony show".

All the so called positive comments were coming from DFord employees, who are a delusional cult. That org has produced NOTHING of value and the sooner they are eliminated by Farley who hated them since Hackett, the better.

I enjoy the town halls. It is great to hear directly from our leadership team.

@1tiu You remind me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Everybody thought the wizard was all knowing and all powerful until Toto pulled the curtain and showed him to be a fraud. One of these days the curtain will be pulled on Jimmy-boy and you will be crushed. We've seen these pull a rabbit of the hat tricks before.

I disagree with the comments here. I found yesterdays Town Hall fun, genuine, and informative as much as the majority of employees did. I am basing this on collaboration with my coworkers and look, how could you have missed all the positive comments in the live chat?

It was great to have the Town Hall live at MAP, even though MAP is not directly a Model e production facility, it still is important to Ford in the near term while ICE vehicles like Bronco are still relevant and can be sustained.

JF and MT were straight with us and JF outlined our immediate actionable goals. Let's all get started.

I like the part where the employee said that their plant can make the parts which the suppliers are ruining. Instead of saying "Hey, let's look into that", JF just blew by the question. No wonder we're #1 for recalls.

Commenter below has a good point. Only a neophyte, wet-behind the ears mo--n would believe a word of a TH these days!

Are all the people left at Ford this dense? ( I retired in April 2022). No answer is an answer - it means more NA employees are going to be shitcanned. They just don’t want to tell you yet, you know because Boston Consulting doesn’t recommend it.

Town halls are corporate brain washing. All us experienced people knew that we don’t ask questions about anything. Let them fall on their sword. Ur not going to get an honest answer anyways. And if you asks controversial question or one that is not a softball you will get a special meeting with your manager. Maybe they were new employees who asked real questions and expected a real answer…. Welcome to ford …

The questions from the MAP employees never disappoint. Did anyone catch the dig from the MAP Plant Manager when she said, "I am just hoping to get to 30"?!

There was no information with regards to the future of NA Salaried workers. Why does JF make one statement last February that we have too many salaried workers then turn around and Bragg about Ford trying to hire 9k Mexican employees.
