I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Ascension has been a horrible employer for years and a lot of us are at the end of our rope. I'm now at the point where being let go with a severance, even a modest one, is a better alternative to being stuck here for who knows how long.

Use this time to get your resume and LinkedIn profile updated AND then don't wait for them to lay you off, find a new, BETTER job...
I know that many (not all) who were sacked in 2021 found other jobs and wrote that the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. I'm one of those. Not only did I get a nice pay raise out of the deal, but more importantly I'm working for a much more stable company which is growing and I am not fearing layoffs or outsourcing or other BS like Ascension is so fond of. I can't express how happy I am to be out of Ascension land, never to ever look back or even entertain any thought of going back. Don't forget, you do have skills that employers are looking for. Think of any vendors that you worked with and see if they have any openings there or leads. The LinkedIn update is a great idea.
I stayed the whole year I promised after I was realigned during The Great Layoff. Like almost to the day. That whole year I felt like you - I wished I had been part of the group laid off.
Then I realized I had to take control of my own destiny. I paid a couple hundred bucks for a resume review and update, and then updated my LinkedIn profile and changed it to "searching". I got hits within 24 hours, an interview within 4 days, and an offer 5 days after that. I make 30% more than I did at Ascension and I am much happier, so the couple hundred for the resume review was truly an investment with a big payoff.
