Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Not a good time for tech

Some say that the market is not as bad as we think it is and many were able to find jobs within a time frame of three months. And yes, I know several people who found new jobs very quickly, albeit outside of this industry. I got the impression that the vast majority want to leave the industry. Perhaps I'm wrong?

@zzs+1kQcPozr, I am self-employed teaching art and as time permits conduct camps around school breaks at certain times of the year. I am able to manage my work-life balance and this has resulted in better health outcome.

I left the tech side several years ago to pursue something that I was passionate about for a very long time and I was doing it alongside over the years. It's not flashy or as lucrative in terms of compensation. But I am working with a purpose by teaching. I am listening to what the students need and develop them over time. It is not an accelerated, competitive teaching/learning environment. I enjoy teaching that nurtures growth in a conducive and student-centric way. It gives me income but more than that - it is a way of living. I am at peace and my health is in good shape.

You may ask why I came here. I came to see what people talk about here in the tech area and whether anything has changed.
