Hours in Office

How many hours do we have to be in the office for it to count? Some are just coming in late and leaving early, so around 3-5hours in office, and it seems to be okay for them. If that counts as a day in the office, I’ll start doing that too. The whole day in office is exhausting

“RTO” is BS. I was remote for 10 years pre Covid and got 5’s on my review most of those years. I work hard, do quality work and I have proven my ability to produce quality outcomes over 20 years at this company. Further, the people I work with in a regular basis do not live in my city, so when I go in the office, there is no one who does what I do, understands what I do or knows me at all. I try to go in around 7:45 so I can snag an office, do some heads down work until lunch and then transition home to take my meetings, which are all in the afternoon every day (I’m east coast, folks I work with are in CA). It’s so silly and a waste of time and energy for me to be in the office at all. If I had at least one or two people here that were on my team, I would be very happy to go in-I definitely prefer in person to the Brady Bunch! But my experience with RTO just doesn’t make any logical sense at all. The LOB leader should be allowed to decide what works for their team. Also: my boss shared that someone committed su----e in a WF property in Charlotte-scared the cr-p out of me.

I've heard a badge swipe and six hours a day but I've also heard that it's too hard to track the six hours since people check email or whatever from home before and after.

We were told 6 hours logged into building network is what counts. 5 hours and 59 minutes does not.

1 hour logged into WF Wi-Fi is what I have heard. I spend about a half day in office the minimum required days in office and have not been on the “bad” list.

Network tracks RTO and 4.5 hours counts as in office

Right now, management is using badge data as the primary tool to track employees coming into the office. Eventually, badge + systems dada will be used to confirm time in the office

All of you lazy, constantly complaining b-ms have made me hope they require full return to office with no option to work from home.

What we heard from Saul and his direct: If you are on a sprint team you only have to come into the office when the scrum master asks you to. There aren't any minimum hours in the office in our entire department.

Lots of work happens without using your laptop at all, in some businesses, so IP address isn't always a helpful tool.

badge swipes and your IP address show If you went to the office and hours you actually worked. If you have to ask this question you are probably not following the RTO guidelines.

I've been working 10 hr days at home for years, cupcake. If you want me to drop it to 6 in the office, keep pushing this 20th century dinosaur RTO BS.

There’s no guidance and since not all spaces have badge out they can’t apply the standard across the board. They would need to have a way to apply the requirement across all locations. Right now they don’t. Maybe they will after renovations.

The first rule of Fight Club is DON'T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB.

Stop giving mgt. ideas or soon they'll force 8 hrs in office! Just stay below the radar and work whatever hrs. you want in the office.

We received instruction from our executive director that the badge report can't identify how long you are in the office or even which office you badged in at. All it shows is you badged in that day.
