Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Do you believe the CEO when he says there'll be no layoffs?

Yes, because he has plenty of attrition. Stop the hiring. Result = whatever number he desires.

BofA was actually up on headcount YoY as of Dec 31 by ~10,000, which surprised me.

For this quarter yes, but towards the end of the year anything can and will happen.

I have a strong dislike for him, but I do believe him. They may have some layoffs resulting from restructuring or adjusting to customer needs (like the lack of mortgage requests) but no mass layoffs like we're seeing at some other companies

Mass layoffs no. Layoffs yes. Mortgage yes, ML probably. It will be hidden. People not financing or refinancing homes we open positions elsewhere don't want to relocate sorry here is the door. Bye bye.

I personally don't, but I'm curious about your reasons if you do.
