The only way to make DEI effective is to hire an outside consultant with complete authority to find specific problem areas, report on the data and oversee the implementation of solutions. The solutions are vast:

  • Re-orgs w/ new hires
  • Layoffs
  • Pay adjustments
  • New business opportunities

The key is to not tell anyone and let things happen organically. Don't make it an issue. Don't label everything to ad nauseum. Set the example through action not billboards and marketing.

Over 2/3 of the population get it, we want good things for all.

Well duh. Of course the white males will be the last to be let go. Not because they’re better. Because they’re white males.

Until we achieve true equity, belonging and inclusion for underserved communities amongst our employees and our customers, there is plenty of work to do. It’s not only the right thing to do, it will help business. A rising tide lifts all ships. BTW I’m white.

Of course, you're white. 95% of what I read regarding equity BS is from a white liberal. BTW I'm brown.

@gzv+1kRL0Q5c Only thing is it was NEVER value based hiring! Which is why D&I is needed!

The thing is, there are some sh---y people out there. I've worked for or around managers who have golf outings that they only invite male employees to, on teams where there were no women or people of color for nine levels to the CEO, in companies where you had to go up 40 floors and three elevator banks to get to a nursing mother room, only to see your comp will be impacted because you spend too much time away from your desk. I've been on a call in which someone was cracking jokes about how stupid MLK Day is and then, when they noticed a black person was in the room, apologized specifically to that person. The sad fact is that these jobs exist because executives and banks won't do the right thing without them.

It's amazing how much the fake news has been putting these "tech layoffs" in the headlines. Even though most of the people canned by these tech companies have little to do with tech.

Anyone who listened to Scharf speak to Congress with all the other big bank execs knows that DEI isn’t going anywhere.

Half of his remarks were about DEI or providing to underserved groups. It’s clearly WF’s way of appealing to the Dems (since the GOP won’t get in the way of the banks).

@pkp+1kRL0Q5c The right thing to do is to get back to value-based hiring instead of quotas. Using quotas discriminates against those people who over-perform. Everyone loses when people are hired who won't or can't do the job of someone else more qualified.

So companies are realizing that they are just window dressing, serve almost zero business purpose and bring no revenue or expense management to a company?
