Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Vz has begun blatantly lying to its employees about results

Vz intranet article said Q4 was 'great'. A quick google search says Q4 was bad. I see lots of shady, unethical decisions coming in 2023.

@bzf+1kRcvMOz I usually believe the opposite of Kramer but I might have to make an exception.

It is like your mommy sayinf you did a great job even though you came in last. For you maybe it was a great job maybe all you could do. Maybe this was the best VZ could do and that is great. Now unfortunately compared to others in the race or on wall street not so great. Doesn’t make it a lie thst you did great finishing in last.

There is no harm in trying to put a good spin on mediocre results. There's no lying going on. No one knows how things will turn out, so you do your best to paint things in the best light you can and try your best. The market has forced the company to take some good hard looks at the business and we will see good come out of it eventually. There will be some pain, but it will be necessary to right the ship. All these naysayers act like management has some kind of crystal ball. Yeah, bad decisions have been made mostly by people who are gone now. If our CEO can surround himself with people who know what they are doing we will make it through. I am encouraged by some of the newer leaders. There will be some pain though in the short term. Longer term we'll see how much change it'll take to make it all work.

First of all the only opinion that matters is Wall Street’s.

From what I can tell the street wasn’t overly impressed but they also weren’t calling for Han’s head.

Likes like ol Herpty Terdy bought himself another quarter.

In Russia, this would be called propaganda. Although in the states it's called positive public relations or marketing. There's nothing illegal about providing biased or misleading information to the public.

I was told yesterday in a meeting that our results were very strong and we are cutting our outlook because Wall Street can be too hard on us. I hoped it was satire, but it wasn’t.

'We can do great especially compared to recent history' by definition that would mean you aren't doing great. Verizon is indeed hiding the losses from 3g sunset, and including $ from the TracFone acquisition in growth. The company is not doing good.

Not really seeing the lie there. We can do great especially compared to recent history and it still not be good enough.

@von you post the same “verlieson” all the time. Every company manipulates the numbers to make them seem better than they actually are.

Cramer was making fun of Hans on CNBC this morning. Basically called him a windbag and said he's not doing anything except losing customers to TMO.

Verlieson has been using shady accounting to puff up their results for years. Open your eyes.
