Least the former CEOs could talk for an hour without having “guest speakers” and take uncensored questions. CS makes more than all of them and can only talk for 10 minutes before passing on to his directs to talk about DEI for the 500th time while leaving 5 minutes for employee questions which are obviously screened. Who actually cares what he’s doing for thanksgiving or Xmas when 90% of the company is wondering when they will be laid off?
Without clients - we are not in business and you do not have a job.
Everything from blaming executives to supposed deadwood (every freaking company has those and it blows big time) originated from Norwest's acquisition of WF in late 90's. They wisely took the respectable WF brand, kept Norwest's culture and tried to play up to their competition out on the east coast.
Thus followed a quarter century of unethical business practices and a workforce who were slowly burned believing the original WF was alive and offered real opportunity.
All the worthless gold coins, silver spokes, pat on your back Shared Success awards, banner w/ pins (remember that joke of a deal?) provided the necessary noise to distract the mostly honest and loyal team members.
To be in this game, to be cheering for WF, is to either be a well compensated corporate exec or a shareholder. If you are like me and unhappy as an employee but also a shareholder, dig deep, process your negative emotions and be above it.

Oh please don’t act righteous. We all know that to the executive class “serving” is just code for “extracting money from”. If you believed he has any serious desire to serve our customers…. We’ll obviously you’re comfortable in your bubble of delusion, so I guess I’m happy for you.

OP here, not defending stumpf, just pointing out that CS is at best morally equivalent to stumpf but with a worse personality

Lol, there’s no comparing cs town halls with js town halls - stumpf had more charisma in his left pinky than chuckles will ever have. He may have been a buffoon, but at least he was a likable buffoon. Chuck is an id--t and a morally repugnant slug with a terrible personality to boot.
