Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Scope of layoffs

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the number is low, however, I was surprised that the number of employees who will unfortunately lose their jobs is not much higher than 3,900. This sounds to me like it's just the beginning. I wonder what else awaits us and how many more cuts until the end of this year.

At least for Senior Software Engineers the outside market is rich with openings.
That's what I found out when re-deployed and well It was my New years resolution anyway to look outside. One offer and likely a 2nd inbound this coming week. 20-40% raise.

Almost Nill. IBM’s goal is to reduce USA headcount in 2023 by 20-25k

Plus, redeployments. What's the chances of finding another IBM job in the US and especially, without moving.....

ok, as we've discussed many times on this board ... IBM is now shifting more to PIPs (which are cheaper). This RA might've been just to appease Wall Street, whereas IBM will STILL implement THOUSANDS of PIPs, that the press will never know about.
