In a large enough organization, a few people are going to violate policies, sometimes in spectacular fashion. So a system is put in place to help identify and address those instances. As long as that happens, even though things aren't perfect, they're tolerable. The system holds.
The problem I have with this case is that an obvious ethical violation - one which corrupts nothing less than the corporation's performance appraisal system - was disclosed at least THREE TIMES to the ethics hotline, board audit committee, and chairman. Still, no punishment for the offenders?!
C'mon, DW! Sure, you've violated employees' trust non-stop since seizing the throne, but this seems like a step too far even for you.
The executive vampires who run Exxon love systems, not people. Or so I thought. Now they've abandoned even the systems and just love themselves... and, of course, their personal receptacles.
Thats why they call him Mr. “Clap” Cheeks!
You guys think this is an isolated case? Check the background of the Execs named here. You’ll find long assignments in foreign lands where the “developed” not just company oil/gas assets. The entire group is corrupt and had funny business happening. The code of ethics was absent given their “success in project delivery”. This is just the tip of the iceberg, dig further and you’ll find all the skeletons…
@1bfb+1kVndTro Lol ok, nice try Christi
Thank you sir, may I have another!
What about hiring externally to fill a role and then hiring their spouse who has little qualifications? What’s more horrible than for busy employees to be asked to “support” incompetent individuals while valued colleagues are PIP’d or forced out.
I have not heard about "Bill and Cristi" open secret but I'm aware of so many other cases of "carn@l relationships" between manager and employees. As a matter of fact, most of hi-pos are suck1ing their sponsors d1-ks (figuratively if not literally) to secure a good standing in the ranking.
Not an isolated case I'm afraid. What when an officially married couple find themselves in a situation where one of the spouses can have direct or indirect impact on the other's career because they're in the same organisation? What when one of the spouses works for HR at a senior level and can pass on “good tricks” or confidential information (e.g. about potential openings) to his/her counterpart? I've witnessed first hand both situations. Nothing was done to eliminate the conflict of interest. And on other hand, you'll get your a-s chewed for mistakenly paying a $10 personal expense with your company credit card.
"Personal receptacle" lmfao
Seriously? What kind of evidence is this? Even my kid can type and print something that looks more credible than this.
They were securing their high ranking by the glow of the fireplace burning up the code of ethics books.....
