Is the 40+mile RTO exception still a thing?

if you move or are hired in at a specific location that is >40 than TS, but if they change/assign you something >40 miles there should be some options to either sever you or work out a remote agreement if they value you enough. I know a bunch of people who were working out of Frederick MD and when that placed closed down they.dont have anything within 40 miles and as such are being allowed to WFH. I think you'll find that like most things with this company everyone will have a different experiences with different rules applied to them.
I'm about 90 mile drive away. I had to go to Google Maps and list out that various routes were all over 40 miles and turn that in. They must have lost it because they asked me again a couple months later for the same info.
Nothing happened in my case. I'm still remote. Ironically, I'm within 40 miles "as the crow flies", but there are rivers and bridges and a big city that I need to get across which adds up to a lot of miles.
Don't know what they're going to do about people like me. There's a whole suburb in my situation. Management seems to have forgotten about us.

Can’t tell what you’re really fishing for here. If you were in this position and employed err you’d know the answer. If you turn around and claim to be an employee then you are far too stupid to deserve a real answer. Anything else and you’re a shill. Gtfo.
Rumor is you’ll be asked to come in to an office. If you choose not to then you will be terminated. Basically you can live where you want but you still need to go on to an office. So start planning now.
About a third of our team lives in non-hub locations and works remotely. The rest of us are forced to go in three days a week simply b/c we live in one of the hubs. I collaborate with no one when in the office. I’m in IRM and work around accountants and customer service types. Makes no sense. I’ve heard folks in non-hubs can’t get other jobs and might be the first to go if and when layoffs come. But several non-hub types have been promoted, so it seems management can do anything they want. Can’t wait to leave this place.
