10% is pretty standard. Anything over 20% will require an act of god. This of course assumes you are changing job codes (i.e. going from a 120 to 130, etc). I’d generally shoot for 15-20%. Anything less than that is a slap in the face. Remember, they are most going to pay an external hire far more than they’ll be paying you.

lots of variables involved but in my experience promotions average around 10% give or take a couple %. one can go up to 20% with minimal approval but after that it requires operating committee approvals and what not.
