Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Could directors please give directions?

Just asking...
You look like overpaid ballast to me. Most of you could be fired without anybody noticing!

PSO had that 1000 managers reduction initiative back in 2006 or 08. Didn't matter, it all grew right back, like mold in the tropics. Maybe ki-ling the corporate PPT license can help.

Yep, I notice that when my manager goes on vacation - work continues just fine, schedules are met and projects progress. Only difference is that nobody asks stupid questions, tries to contribute without any subject knowledge or wastes time on 1:1s and team meetings to mark boxes on some managerial checklist. When guy covering for him asks for a report or something it's typically when it's really needed, as he wouldn't bother otherwise.

Actually, I would notice if my director was fired because they would be one less person lying to my face.

Be careful about what you ask for.
D-mb people being lazy is actually a blessing. When d-mb people become hard working, then you really hit the fan.

We make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. It is impossible to measure our performance and there are no consequences for making bad decisions. Intel doesn't organize around real profit and loss businesses, it's one giant hierarchy of managers. In short, a lucrative position with no stress. Now, can you see how silly your questions sound to someone in this position?
