Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell wont do layoffs

Im wagering that there will be no mass layoffs, maybe just a small culling of very non performing workers. Those people afraid of town halls and all hands should not be scared

If you are 60+ please get prepared. It will not just be low performers, it will be higher wage earners. Its sad but there is no loyalty, its business. You need to prepare yourself for Cobra payments, there will be 2 months salary plus 1 week for every year and possibly a little bonus. it will be in one check after you sign your life away on the termination papers

Dell is also reportedly in talks of announcing staff reductions as early as this week, but we are not yet hearing a consistent number. One source tells us that managers in various departments have been told to put together names of who should get a pink slip. Another posits that the marketing and communication departments, for example, could face up to a 25% reduction in team size.

The tech giant laid off 9% globally in 2020, and some suspect this round will be similarly sized. Per LinkedIn, Dell Technologies employs over 141,000 people.

May not be huge but we will lose people. Every time some significant in the economy happens, we cut people. 2001, 2008… probably 2023
