Based on last year's M/M no raise/no bonus, I did the bare min and guess what I got this year, M/M still no raise, was told I'm at the high end of my range, but did get a bonus. So that tells you there is no reason to bust your rear end when it comes down to what your manager wants to give you. Last year I had a d-bag, this year a much better manager. Either way, updating resume and looking at other companies are paying 10% with a much higher base.

@4xdx+1kZ0Vcln - agree, but the job codes all have a salary range, which can vary by location. (e.g. Manhattan is going to be higher than Kansas City).

I have 10 people on my team with the same job code, same location.

Those who I rate E/M, M/E or E/E get a slightly higher bonus and/or salary raise, than the M/M.

So YE ratings do matter, maybe just not as much as many here seem to think. Personally, I would not ki-l myself to get the Exceeds b/c it did not make that big a diff in the years I received it.

Oh! and the salary ranges overlap, so it's not automatic increase if you get promoted folks.

Your job code defines your pay not the year end ratings or promotion. My base went up 7% after serving for 6 years of. You can't expect 0-2% hike. Internal mobility is best way to get good hike. I know some people switched twice in 4 years and thier base went up by 20-30%. It is currently frozen so wait until it is open and switch.

Exceeds Ratings and Title Promotions don't mean anything if it's not tied to compensation.

Ironically have seen people damn near work themselves to death over title promotions. You know those don't come with better bonuses, more money, or perks.

Maybe you can ask for the title promotion of “Managing Director”, so you could feel better with your cent promotions.
They give out title promotions like candy anyways.

Imagine working so hard you get rated E/E, I do the bare minimum and i get rated M/M and my jaw isn't sore at the end of the year either.

But what about Brian’s bonus. The sacrifice is worth it for that big old smile of his.
