The guy is just trying to be personable. Maybe his examples are kind of quirky but he just seems to be a “half full” kind of guy.

I know this board isn’t for happy people but it really is exhausting working with people who are so dead set on making everything a personal slight and source of never ending misery. The RTO topic is the dead horses of dead horses. I long for an AMA when he doesn’t bring it up. It was always temporary, why people are so perplexed it is coming to an end baffles me.

You don’t have to like it but, last I checked, WF was funding your paycheck. Unless you have an incredibly rare or in demand skill you are going to have to take what’s offered or find a situation that does. This is not a WF thing, it’s a life thing. WF is seemingly the last large financial institution to call people back to the office so expect 4-5 day in office expectation if you want to go to a peer. Google Citi - the CEO was all for remote/hybrid and just announced that lower performers (all you 1s and 2s) be recalled to the office full time.

First of all - where the Hades is HE parking??
Second of all it's really condescending to assume adult skilled workers are looking for love in a garage.
We are grownups Saul.

@1irm, he is like a 10-year old! Love in a parking lot? Maybe that is where he goes looking for it. And the way he always says bye-bye and waves his hand at the end of each AMA - like a freaking 10-year old!

This guy gets it. CPG chases 'hot design trends', which costs the company millions, and has absolutely no interest in our actual needs or how people work. It's not that they don't listen, they don't even respect employees enough to ask. Their new work spaces are hideously expensive distraction-filled messes. We might as well publish restricted info on the internet because there is no privacy at all. People that have absolutely no business need to know are overhearing things constantly. Huge risk that CPG is blissfully unaware of. Like I said, they do not care. Outsourcing couldn't happen to better people.

Bullsh-t grips my skull tight,
A pulsing pain day and night,

His heir apparent is likely TK through her shameless self promo and willingness to do the dirty work of decimating the ranks. He may not be perfect for sure but. Be careful what you wish for…

Sure Saul...YOU can say the flex spaces are staying but you missed the point of the question about assigned spaces again. It's a ROYAL PAIN IN THE A$$ to have to carry your stuff back and forth when in the office and also such a blank sterile environment. It's not accounting for the WAY folks work. Some folks are ok with the sterile, empty environment...but the majority like to have structure and security meaning they want to have their own desk...their own belongings they know will be there every day they come in. What's so wrong with that. YOU can't see the issue because I'm sure you have an ASSIGNED OFFICE...so what's the big whoop?... well try empathizing with your hard-working staff for once! And as for the analogy that fell flat about a parking space. IF i pay for a particular parking space...then yes, I expect that particular parking space to be there every time I pull in. What's so wrong with that??????????????

Prepare an opening statement for a technology "Ask Me Anything" meeting

"Welcome everyone to today's technology Ask Me Anything meeting! My team lost our existing well liked and accomplished product owner who replaced by a new scrum master with no Linked in profile (much like most of the new Agile consultants and new hires) and who has little command of the English language or knowledge of the existing environment. Sounds like management is interested in getting the team to frustrate the team enough to consider retirement/resignation. Thoughts?

Saul is a good guy that is doing a good job of providing honest answers to what he is asked.

He can't satisfy everyone but most Tech employees are happy with him.

Saul: Product owners should be co-located with teams. And teams should be co-located so you can all go into the office.

Also Saul: We're going to put product owners in India.

WTF?

Also- I don't buy this claim that all these teams are colocated. team members are all over the place.
