Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is there any recourse?

Does anyone know, if you have an honest-to-God s-b story as to why you desperately need to keep your job, will they let you keep it? Is there any mercy at all?

Very large customer escalated to Cisco due to criticality of a particular person and role for a project. Went high up and they reverted the LR. Very rare, but it did happened.

There was one person's situation a few years ago that did make a difference - it was a doozy and went all the way to Chuck, who made the call to open a position to retain the employee as I understand it.

If someone up the chain can vouch for you, yes they can remove you from the list. Seen it before.

Never heard of it happening. The only folks I've seen that were able to stay at Cisco had VP-level air coverage. S-b stories do nothing. They were able to get the VP to chat with another VP and find another job in a different group (you can't stay in your current group......once you are LR labeled, you have to move out, period).
