To promote from within has not been done in 30 years. Maybe an odd one might make the jump from hourly to salaried but not these days. Its like a class system. Next, someone will tell us to change over to Quickbooks to save money. Hey, they can run a crypto company on it, why not an auto company.
The enormous amount of fakes and incompetence hired into Ford over the last few years are and will destroy the company. Start with all the hires from HP - can any of them list just 3 wins they accomplished that have earned profit to Ford. All talkers and nothing to show.
Hopefully sooner than later, Doug and Jim will start to eliminate them and bring in their own, which is already underway.

i remember in the nasser era, JN put some dot com guy in charge of lincoln. i think he lasted about 18 months. now that is happening all over ford.
I like the term "KIDS" used here, because a lot of companies have them in positions and running departments when they have no right to be where they are! The majority have virtually no experience or know how. Don't get me wrong; I'm sure their bright and clever, but when you climb a ladder, you ascend one step at a time.
