If I were to move from a Lead Bus Execution Consultant to a Lead Tech Bus. Services Consultant role is it a lateral move and am I truly ineligible for any increase?

OP here. So, if current role Comp. Grade = 130 and potential new role = 120, then no bueno ?
The new role sounds interesting and would just be a great change, but not if it is essentially a step back. Ridiculous how difficult they make it to try to move within the company. I guess the writing is on the wall to go external.
Correct, because even though WF is saying they want to improve talent mobility and career journeys within the firm, they don’t. This is to make it harder for managers to hire internal folks and encourage external hires. WF hates it’s employees.

Not the role but the job code that matters. A 110 pays less then a 130, 150, etc. I know this because I just made an internal move. I received 20% which they tell you is the max they can offer without receiving approval from high above. Is that true? Who knows. I don’t believe a word they say but I’ll take the 20% and try to make an external move for another 20%+ in a year or so. One caveat—they hide the job codes from you. You can only view your own job code in workday. So much for transparency, right? However, recruiter will generally ask you if you would still be interested in the position if it didn’t come with more money to which you can politely laugh and thank them for their time before hanging up the phone as I did many times.
with a lateral move you shouldn't expect a bump in pay. The hiring manager COULD do something, but don't expect it.
Pretty sure pay scale for Tech Bus Svcs job family is higher than Bus Execution. Look at the ranges for each.
