Who cares if RTO is tracked?

The RTO rate in my building is less than 10%. The times I came in I never saw more than 3 people on the entire floor. The parking garage is empty too. Only the new people come in and once they catch on, they start to WFH too.

If only a minority were not coming in, they could penalize them but when almost no one is coming in there’s not much that can be done. Are they going to fire the majority of the company or give half the company a low performance rating?

Of course it depends on your team but I just follow the crowd and have had no issues and why should I when everyone else is doing the same thing?

Been RTO since March. Worst 9 mo stretch of my 17 years here.

Is it hard? Not at all. Don't even mind the idea of going to an office.

Problem: brings me zero benefit whatsoever. No peers here. Sparsely populated office with other humans that offer me nothing. Complete waste of time/effort....zero value add to WF for me to come in.

I’d gladly give up 50% of my bonus which probably amounts to 10-12k to never RTO again. Save me almost 2 hours a day commuting, parking, lunch, not to mention the years of my life saved by the reduced stress. Well worth it in my opinion.

They’re not going to take money out of your bonus if the compliance rate is what it is currently. My building is an absolute ghost town and it was so full prior to covid they converted to hoteling cubes. Also you’d break even considering that many spend $20+ a day on car, gas, parking, lunch plus 2 hours on the road.

If they take $10k out of your bonus, would you still not come in? That's probably what we'll be up against. I wouldn't worry about other people.

The non compliant are the true heroes of the RTO war.
