Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

The best of us needs to come out during the worst time

Many of our colleagues today received the news that they are no longer part of Cisco. Some have been here for many years, others for a lot less.

To the folks affected, please stay strong and now more than ever it is important to keep family, friends, and loved ones close to you. In the end, your health and family are the most important things in life. Careers, jobs come and go, but family is forever. While it may not seem so at present, this too shall pass.

To the folks not affected, please reach out to anyone you know was impacted. See how they’re doing. Make yourself available if they need to talk. Become their support during this time. Get them in touch with recruiters, headhunters, or companies on professional social networks you know are actively hiring so they can get on their two feet as quickly as possible.

This isn’t about you. You matter. It’s hard to see the forest through the trees. Look at your peers faced with the same reality. Shocked & disappointed, but you are not defeated.

Thanks Fran for the upbeat comment. You must still have your job. I noticed that most of the Chiefs still have there jobs... and the people who get the work done were let go today. Good Luck
