With a little over two weeks left of December, will there be any layoffs in Dec of this year or will they wait till the new year?

I had three friends that were laid off in 2019. Doesn't make sense.
Most likely by 12/31/2022.
Two days before Christmas, in 2019?!!! Damnnnn. Woah.
In 2019 they laid off on 12/23. To make the numbers for stockholders in this economy it will most likely be by 12/3/2022.
