Second @1nti+1kbv1TpK and @1gft+1kbv1TpK . No formal communication in UK and none is possible because not adhering to local labour laws will open Cisco up to lawsuits. Cannot speak for unofficial information and gossips. But officially, they will follow their set play from the past. It will be md-to-end Jan and possibly notification to affected people even later depending on how many affected and whether or not the management will have to go through the consultation process.

No one in the UK has formally been told. They might have heard 2nd hand but there have been zero proper UK notifications

If some UK folk have already been told they are at risk, they are not postponing this until Jan simply because of UK regulations/having to assign reps first, as if that were the case nobody would have been told yet.

Of course that doesn't mean some folk will not be told until Jan anyway, which is poor as those who still want to look for jobs within Cisco then, will have had all the folk already notified in Dec having taken their pick/started their applications for the few jobs available :-(. So not an even playing field.

Yes, UK will be second or third week of Jan, which is when the process will start. Does not necessarily mean that people affected will get to know. Couple of people affected in my team. The threshold for consultation emails and selection of reps is 99 and in the past we always had that at Bedfont Lakes. Likely this time too. If the consultation process kicks in then that will add another 4 odd weeks before affected people are informed. Shall not be surprised if UK sales follows the rolling LR format of Americas that we are hearing about.

Good luck everyone.

The number of people being impacted will definitely exceed the threshold. The number is 20 and even in my tiny part of the UK business I have 2-3 leaving.

Employee consultation is only required if the number of layoffs exceeds a certain threshold. I do not believe that to be the case in the UK this time and I know of people who have already been informed. That is not to say that everyone impacted in the UK will have been informed but the process certainly seems to have started in line with US/India etc.

In the past when LR was announced reps were requested to be part of the consultancy group. But I think I recall people who were at risk had already been nominated.

It'll be next year. Something to do with consultancy periods and appointing reps.
