SP Engineering got hit

Are we not developing our own ASICs anymore going forward?

Silicon One was suppose to be for the merchant silicon market where others can purchase the chip and build their equipment with it. Else why spend so much resources to build a SDK (sh---y at that) for internal use??

Sadly, Silicon One hasn't lived up to the hype yet. With the release of the Nexus 9800 series one would have imagined something fresh and unique, and while it can deliver super dense 400G port capacity, it lacks in a ton of features and the market for this chassis is very niche at the moment. Silicon One in the data center portfolio only serves to confuse customers as now you have CloudScale on the fixed port ToR switches and Silicon One in a chassis, each with unique capabilities, but where does Cisco stand with it's workhorse Cloud Scale ASIC now? Only time will tell.

Lol that whole thing was to get brownie points from chuck’s woke crowd. Let chuck fix the cisco 4431 bugs before we see asics

Watch out McDonalds, here comes Cisco!! What a fricken joke, id--ts made everyone sign NDAs to work on that piece of sh-t.
