@fb So I guess we solve all the problems nationwide by firing all the directors and managers in Michigan? Got it. /s

@s3 The severance package listed on the Magenta web portal is dated 2023, so it is NOT updated.

@na There is a severance document you can look at. They update the document prior to layoffs.

During the all hands call last week our new CEO said there would be layoffs without saying so. Rumors are that layoffs will happen in the first quarter and the severance packages were recently updated alluding to the same. I

@h9 If that's the case, why do I need to ask for Care reps who can actually speak understandable English?

@fb I believe it’s important to specify. The intent is to close or consolidate the call centers which are located overseas, not the ones that are here in the states. Once the AI can get most of the smaller, less involved tasks done on its own, the global side of call centers can be reduced or eliminated. US based care still runs strong.

@fb ROTFLMAO. They re-integrated IT with Product? That failed 10 years ago, and is why IT was moved under engineering. HAHAHAHA.

Massive layoff last week. I think Q1 will be consumer & frontline with a focus on call center closure/ consolidation. Do a quick search on physical AI that John saw was talking about. There are several articles out there about the work T-MOBILE is doing with physical AI with the intent of closing call centers.

I think there will also be some tweaks within IT after the recent integration with Product. I don’t know how much overlap is there, but guessing there will be some fat to trim.

Business and enterprise teams will continue to tweak and modify as well.

I heard last week’s layoff numbers were large approximately 15% of those orgs were cut.

Q1 could be another 15% if they do indeed close call centers.

Flattening will continue also across the entire company. Senior Manager, Director, VP’s and SVP‘s are considered unnecessary layers in a lot of teams.
