Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Making empty promises does not really help

I don't trust the leadership at all anymore, they have lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps they are trying to rekindle optimism, but I am getting tired of their empty promises. What are they actually doing well for the benefit of Intel in the future? That's a difficult question to answer.

Hang on - Gordon Moore is still alive ...

And, under Craig, Intel ended up with inferior products compared to AMD, and the mantra was "The brand will pull us through".

Well, what was needed was the "right-hand turn" to embrace the Israel-developed Core architecture, and stop the further Netburst development. That turned out to be a smashing success under PSO.

@aex+1kcxdSO5 -- BK is definitely culpable but there's quite a host of other characters in leadership positions that were part of orchestrating the train wreck of the last decade : AB, MR, BS, BW, SRo, SRi.

Somewhere, AG is rolling in his grave (along with RN and GM) and CB is shedding tears on how this cast of charlatans ruined the great company they built.

It's a tough situation. Bad strategy, bad execution, losing share, losing gross margin. It's a Kobayashi Maru (ref. Star Trek episode). In this case, Pat is Captain Kirk and he hopes to change the rules of the simulation by becoming a manufacturer (IDM 2.0). Unfortunately, Pat has to bring all the employees along on the vision and get the buy in. Captain Kirk succeeded by reprogramming the simulation. He didn't need anyone else to buy into his plan. Unfortunately, that option isn't available for Pat. Life is more complicated then TV shows.

What are they actually doing well for the benefit of Intel in the future? OP, why should they? Suck it up and maybe one day you can do what they are doing to others.

Compared to how badly BK messed things up, it’s fairly clear what’s going on. Hopefully you’re new, and didn’t experience that trainwreck, because if you’ve not new…
